We have over 300 miles of trails within 30 minutes of Downton Durango!! There are trails for all levels and abilities! Difficulty levels include Beginner, Intermediate, Advanced, and Expert! Check out all of the different trail systems Durango has to offer below!

Beginner to Expert
The Horse Gulch trail system is a great area with trails for all levels! We will often take first timers and families here. There are also options for advanced riding in Horse Gulch. Let us cater to you!
The Horse Gulch area is a high alpine desert with beautiful meadows located right in Downtown Durango. You will be riding on dirt surrounded by Sage Bushes, Pinon Trees, Sandstone Rock, and the tall La Plata Mountains as your backdrop off in the distance!!
Fun forested and shale-like limestone drainages that makes for super flowy, ascetically pleasing, and adrenaline pumping mountain biking!! Locals call this area "Test Tracks"!! The famous Durango "Star Wars" trail is in Overend Park! Feel like you are in a Star Wars movie flying down the flume-like downhill with zigzags and banks to shake off any imperial tie fighters!!
Intermediate to Expert
The Overend Park trail system has trails for all riders above the beginner level. You may just be pushing past your 'beginner' phase and you will definitely have a great time in here! Mellow climbs and flowy descents! Experts will be able to push their limits with speed and airs!
In Overend you will be riding on dirt and limestone .The limestone is very shale like and incredibly aesthetic! The best way to describe Overend Mountain Park is as a “playground for mountain bikers.” With buttery singletracks, bridges, burms, banks, jumps and bumps, and trails crisscrossing through green forested gullies, there’s a reason Overend Mountain Park is a favorite place to ride among Durango locals!
Enjoy views up on the mesa of town and the Twin Butte Mountains or an epic downhill flow trail with burms and features!! Surely to leave this trail system with a smile!!
Beginner to Expert
Twin Buttes Trail System has moderate steady climbs, tight banked turns, and classic single track. Push yourself with some cross country style riding or some downhill flow trail!
Twin Buttes has dirt trails with Pinon Trees, Juniper Trees, Sage Bushes, a Mesa with epic views, and a man-made downhill flow trail with very fun natural features to hit or just roll by!
Lots of technical, rocky, and cool natural features that will push some limits while at the same time make you realize what is possible on your mountain bike!! Locals call this area "Sailing Hawks"!
Advanced to Expert
Dalla Mountain Park definitely will push your skills in spots! You will enjoy plenty of flowy trail, while at the same time rolling over very cool technical rock features that you did not realize your bike could do!
Dalla Mountain Park is on the North side of town and you will ride on dirt in a dense forest surrounded by an incredible number of Sanstone Boulders! Plenty of natural features with options to go around!
For those looking to ride a bike, but stick to pavement!! This trail is along side the historical Animas River that runs through downtown Durango!! A laid back ride with a local guide to learn about all the local spots, geography, and history of Durango!!
All Levels!
A great ride for all ages and skill levels! Families, couples, or individuals!! Anyone can cruise this trail!!
The Animas River Trail is a concrete trail that stretches over 7 miles through town along the beautiful Animas River. It provides easy access to a variety of parks, open spaces, and natural surface trails as well as the community recreation center, the public library, downtown Durango, neighborhoods and schools. It crosses 8 bridges, 4 underpasses, and 1 tunnel to the south end of the city limits without crossing a single street.
